Who Counts: The Complexities of Democracy in America

The history of struggles for representation and recognition in America is the subject of episode 3, “Who Counts: The Complexities of Democracy in America.” Penn State humanities scholars explore the ongoing quest to achieve the promise of American democracy despite the many past, present, and future obstacles to equality and social justice.

In addition to this episode, HumIn Focus held a panel discussion at WPSU led by Executive Producer Matt Jordan about the challenges to Democracy raised in “Who Counts?”, featuring scholars Clarence Lang, Rachel Shelden and John Gastil, and a panel of Penn State University student leaders.
